Term 1 We are Superheroes!

The little superheroes all started at ‘big’ school and have made such a great start to the year. Lots of fantastic learning has already taken place… writing superhero names, learning new phonemes for reading, exploring the outside area and much, much more! Keep checking back here for updates and photos.

Term 2 Oh what a beautiful night!

We began the term by being ‘autumn detectives’ on our welly walk and have been exploring conkers, pine cones and leaves in the classroom. We have even been using these objects to make repeating patterns… we are getting so good at it now! Firework night and bonfire night gave us lots of great ideas for our writing and we have loved snuggling up around the camp fire during our role play activities. The firework theme has continued into our messy area, painting and printing fireworks has been lots of fun! Our phonic knowledge is developing, allowing us to read our first books! We can read 🙂 Lots more to come…

Term 3 When I grow up!

This term we have been busy being builders, police officers, firefighters, doctors and nurses and postal workers! We were lucky enough to have two police officers visit our school who told us all about their jobs and even let us try on their hat! We learnt about weight whilst being builders and compared different building blocks. During our week of firefighters we painted pictures of fire engines and learnt about capacity. When we were doctors and nurses we added and subtracted prescription requests and made stethoscopes in the messy area. We enjoyed our trip to the post office and wrote postcards to eachother, these were sent back to the school and were delivered to us by a real postal worker, thank you James L’s mum for bringing our post to us! We are half way through the year now, WOW! Can you believe it?!
