A CARE FOUNDATION TRUST SCHOOL

School Lunches

Established in 2003 by Annette Ryan Murphy, Nourish Contract Catering broke boundaries, providing fresh, wholesome meals against a backdrop of convenience and fast food in schools. Since then the business has evolved. Working with almost a hundred contracts, Nourish has expanded, but our unrivalled standards have remained intact. Working in partnership with primary and secondary schools as well as Business & Industry, Nourish maintains a food first focus. Small enough to care, but big enough to deliver, Nourish guarantees fresh food, contented clients and enthusiastic employees. Welcome to our website, we hope it gives you an insight into our Nourish family!

To Need, To Nurture, To Nourish

We believe every child needs a satisfying meal at lunchtime, fuelling them for the afternoon ahead. Nurturing the importance of a healthy and balanced diet, we provide a nutritious meal every day to nourish from within.

All menus are planned and costed to budget whilst working within strict nutritional guidelines. We provide our schools with monthly financial reports detailing income and expenditure.

Small Enough to Care, but big enough to deliver

Nourish is a small company where the directors and staff are always ‘hands-on’ and available. We listen to the individual needs of our clients in order to offer a tailor-made service.

As a local company we are always available to answer any queries. Our response is efficient and effective, and we take pride in the prevention of potential problems before they arise.

Our directors have a vast range of experience, and each person brings something unique to the table. With varied backgrounds from business to hotel management, our different paths to contract catering make us who we are.

Fruit and Milk

SCHOOL FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SCHEME

The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme is a Government programme that entitles every child aged four to six in LEA-maintained schools to a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day. The aim of the scheme is to increase fruit and vegetable consumption to help protect against chronic diseases such as heart disease and certain cancers. The scheme means that children receive additional fruit and it is not a replacement for the fruit normally brought to school as part of their lunch or break time snack. Children are offered just one type of fruit or vegetable per day, at morning break time, this helps ensure that the children are introduced to a range of different fruits and vegetables rather than picking the same one each day.

MILK

If you wish your child to receive a carton of milk at morning break, please register on the Cool Milk website – www.coolmilk.com, automated telephone line – 0800 321 3248, or complete the form included in the New Entrants Packand return it direct to the company, Cool Milk at School Ltd. The milk is available free of charge to children under 5 years of age and will stop the Friday before their 5th birthday. A letter will be sent offering the option to continue on the parent payment scheme. For those children over 5 years of age the milk is currently 28p per day for a 189ml carton. A fridge is supplied by the company and a local dairy delivers the milk to school.
