Year 3 and 4 Cross Country Event

On Monday 11th October, children from Years 3 and 4 attended the Cross country event at Godinton House. Every single child ran the1000m course and put in 100 per cent effort, and as a result Mersham children achieved brilliantly overall.  Exceptional performances from the Year 3 boys (James, Theo, Laelan, Riley and Blake) meant that they came 1st as a team. In addition to this, Blake came 3rd overall- amazing effort! The 3 girls (Lucy, Hope and Raya) ran brilliantly and completed the whole course, you should be super proud girls! A brilliant performance from the Year 4 boys (Dexter, Louis, Charlie and Codee) and Codee placed 3rd overall- what an amazing achievement! Another great run from the Year 4 girls team (Chloe, Esme, Adelaide, Siena, Nikole, Millie, Erin and Olivia). An outstanding performance from Chloe who was placed 1st overall!

The team spirit shone throughout the event and it was so lovely to hear the children cheering and supporting each other the whole time, including the siblings who came to watch. Mrs Maher and I were very proud of you all and it was so lovely to be taking part in a competition after such a long time. What a great event – well done to all of you!

We have been lucky enough to be receiving tennis coaching from Sellindge Tennis Club. They have been enjoying developing their tennis skills!

We have enjoyed taking part in a series of Gymnastic workshops delivered by Dance Visions, Ashford. We learnt how to stretch and perform a range of balances. We used the apparatus to develop these skills further. It was great fun!

Sports Crew

At Mersham Primary School we have a committed sport crew who work alongside the P.E leader to develop sporting opportunities across the school. In Term 1 and 2 the sport crew have designed and implemented a range of lunchtime clubs for all children to access. These consist of: basketball challenge club, speed stacking club, obstacle challenge club and parachute club. As part of their club, the sport crew have been organising intra-school competitions and awarding pupils with certificates in our end of term assemblies.
